Team Practice & Instruction / Home Practice
During the fall soccer season the team will practice twice per week and attending practice is required. Leading into the fall season, a practice time will be set for one day each week over the summer for players to attend whenever possible. Practice in the winter and spring will be announced prior to each season..

Practice Tips

  • It is important to come to practice if you want to improve as a player
  • If you are unable to attend a practice, please let the coach know not to expect you
  • Practice hard and concentrate on making each effort your very best
  • Listen to the coaches’ instruction and ask questions if you do not understand
  • Talking with teammates while at practice is distracting to others
  • Remember to bring enough water or sports drinks to each practice
  • Every player should bring a¬†properly inflated size 5 ball to each practice
  • Shin guards are mandatory at all practices and socks must be worn over them

Soccer skills cannot be mastered simply by attending practice. Practice requires time to work on team tactics in addition to individual skills. Practice is essential for learning new skills and for coaches to evaluate a player’s current skills, but there is not sufficient time for the individual player to have enough touches on the ball to make major improvement in individual skills. The only way to improve skills, to compete and to become better players is to spend time at home working on soccer skills. School comes first and homework must be completed, but then make time for touching the ball at least a few times per week. It doesn’t take a lot of time, just a period of focused and consistent playing with the ball. Please make every effort to arrange your schedule to allow time for home soccer practice.
