The Huntingdon Valley Thunder finished the 2010 Rock Spring Soccer League as undefeated champions playing to a 6-0 record with 35 goals for and 0 against. The team has not been scored on in spring soccer league play for the past two years.
What a game. After two overtime periods and deep into penalty kicks, the HVAA U13 Thunder prevailed to win the 2009 Schillinger Tournament. The team went 4-0 on the way to the championship. Thank you to our guests from Fox Chase for joining us. I’m happy that in the end the girls were able to win for themselves but I’m more impressed by how they came together as a team, worked hard, supported each other and celebrated a championship on the field as friends.
On a storm soaked field in the muddiest jerseys ever worn in a soccer match, the HV Thunder played to a 5-0 victory in the championship to win the 2009 VE Father’s Day weekend tournament. Playing 3 games in just over 4 hours, the 13 member squad went 3-0 displaying excellent soccer and proving to be extremely fit. Congratulations to all the girls for a great result under such tough conditions.
What a spring! We lost no games, allowed no goals and yet we may not win our division championship – oh well. The good news is that the team has been playing solid, quality soccer and you can’t ask for more than that. Everyone should be proud of the effort they made.
The Huntingdon Valley Thunder are the 2008 Jack Walsh Memorial Tournament champions! Congratulations to all the girls on a great tournament and a hard-fought win in the championship match over a tough Hunter team. Over the course of the tournament the team scored 9 goals while only allowing 2. Three of four matches were shut-outs including the championship.
